Failure, even mixed with blood, was not a pleasant taste to have in your mouth. Worse still if it was two days after such a failure. She had to beat a hasty retreat that fight, having considered a fight to be a lost cause if she was going to bleed too much, so she ran and leapt into the river following the explosion. The absolute worst part had to be the fact that her wounds were apparently minor, as they healed the moment she got far enough, with nary a scar to be seen! She had a feeling she had been tricked.
Though she didn't forget that others were around her during the situation, and they didn't hold her back! However, she found she couldn't find them. The Academy obviously could have them around, but she didn't feel like scrounging the place for one person. Besides, she found whoever it was had a much more recognizable feature, the shadowy army they had used. She also felt her current appearance was way more familiar.
A great head surveyed the area around the river the serpent lurked in, not caring for the various gasps and fleeing souls who walked over to investigate. After the huge display of magic, she didn't feel like hiding her form, and it was good when they ran. The place still was wrecked by that explosion, and she was certain the civilians had gotten hurt, even today she didn't see many leave their homes and when they did, they ran. She could feel the tension in the air, thin like a string and dangerous. She felt she could only stay like this for a few minutes before she drew the wrong attention, but it was fine. If she was attacked, she'd swim down the river...but nobody was approaching at the moment, even as she considered how long before she had to stop scaring the townsfolk.
Lucky for her, this made her search easy. Either she'd catch sight of one of the shadowy ones, or they'd come to her, she was gigantic in the middle of the city after all. She needed to thank her new ally.
