In the year 2012, a mysterious illness began to sweep the globe. In its wake, those who survived it were left with immensely powerful supernatural abilities.
As the number of people capable of wielding magic powers increased, they began to organize and seize control of the course of history. Using their powers to travel between parallel universes, these mages forge empires of a scale never before seen. And at the center of it all is the Academy, a neutral institution founded for mages to share their knowledge with each other.
Mages struggle against each other to impose their will upon the multiverse, but there is one threat that unites them all together. In recent months, mysterious entities have appeared. These entities wield power far greater than any one mage, and they seem determined to annihilate all of humanity. The mages will have to set aside their differences in order to beat them. The fate of the multiverse depends on it.

Kaida's head drew back slightly at the mage's words, and a deep anger started to cloud her eyes. "How." The words were spit out like poison, "How the hell was I supposed to know any of that?" It didn't sound like the new knowledge was calming her down any, in fact, it seemed to make her angrier! "I'm no "knight", and if you can heal. Heh. I guess there's no holding back then. Maybe I can show my insides, though I warn you, their a lot fucking tougher than some poor Pterodactyl." Words given, she craned open her mouth and chopped the squirming mass of flesh that she was certain Diana was in.
...and promptly tasted blood as the spear went right into the top of her jaws.
Surprisingly, this didn't seem to quell her determination, simply letting out an agonized roar but not actually doing much to get out of it. She raises both her claws and plunged them into the general area where Diana was before the pain became too much and she sprang away, mouth hung open and dripping scarlet. This was an attack, not a defense of something special, and as Kaida lucked the top of her mouth she noted the way it wasn't healing as fast, and the water that swirled around was dropping to the ground in random rain. She wished she were in water.
She knew Diana would be coming out at some point and flattened herself to the ground, releasing her control over the water so that it splattered on both her and the ground, making both slippery and cold and effectively creating her version of defense as she awaited her prey to emerge.
"You could have asked! You just said some stuff and I ignored you and then you attacked, even after I made fun of you for making so many assumptions. But how you should know really isn't my problem. I mean, that seems like something really important to know for sure before snapping your charge's neck!"
Her wounds were healing up quickly, part of the reason she didn't really care about taking damage or dealing it. If she stabbed the dragon a little too much or in the wrong place she could just fix it. If she got a little hurt it wasn't that big a deal. Even the teeth she lost earlier were already starting to grow back in, as uncomfortable as that always was. It made her less worried about increasing her strength like this. It was always really hard on her body and painful as hell to actually use it, but she could fix it so it was no big deal. The first kick broke through some of the harder muscles and tendons, nearly breaking her knee in the process. Diana bit her lower lip, working through the pain, and continued to kick until she could open a hole. The snake attacked in the mean time and she gave it everything she had to make sure she wouldn't get bitten. Successfully it seemed because the snake backed out quickly, presumably not wanting to have a spear in her brain like a reasonable person, and clawed at her instead. The claw sliced through her shoulder and down her arm. Hardly the snake's worst attack right now, but the location was inconvenient. She was getting dragon blood and guts in an open wound and that did not seem very sanitary. She figured her body could probably handle any disease that came of it, but getting out of her was a priority.
A few more kicks did the trick, and at that point she was pretty sure she tore something and broke her foot if not more than that, but it probably wouldn't take that long to heal. When Diana emerged from the dragon, she was covered head to toe in blood and guts, but wasn't particularly bothered about it. She forced herself to her feet despite the pain and leaned against the dragon casually, like nothing had even happened and like they weren't still in the middle of a fight. Her stomach growled. She'd been amplifying her body a lot and she still had yet to eat since the dragon eating her food was what made her go after it in the first place.
"So you mentioned eating this thing before. Is it any good? Can't say I've ever had lizard."
Even though she looked casual she was preparing for the snake's next attack. She was going to have to wait a few minutes before she could run again with her leg like this, so getting the snake to attack was the next best thing. Snake lady seemed to only have melee range attacks, so whatever she used to attack meant that Diana could also attack that part.

Kaida stalked around the carcass as the mage talked and asstempted to break free, each movement of her body sending tables careening away as her scales rasped on the ground. It was predictable when the warrior broke free in a shower of flesh and blood, and Kaida's nostrils flared when the delectable scent entered the air. She didn't act on these urges, focusing instead on the enemy before her before she ate. Later, but not now.
Surprisingly, it seemed she wasn't the only one thinking of eating! "I wouldn't know." Something about how the other mage spoke demanded an answer, and at the moment, Kaida was happy to oblige, "Pterodactyls don't exist in my time, though I heard everything tastes like chicken if you're hungry enough. Though you might get sick or...you know, hurt." She trailed off almost casually, eyes flickering over to blink at the lump of meat the prehistoric being had started turning into, and her tail pushed off the ground.
The strike was aimed at the mage's legs, and she gritted her teeth as she anticipated the inevitable counterattack, hoping her slick scales would be enough to turn away the worst of it. "Like hell that you're getting a bite though!" Her voice was suddenly very loud, vibrating the air in a haze before her expression snapped back to the furious look that she had worn for most of this fight.
Diana was starting to like this weird snake lady. She was starting to wonder if she cared about the dragon at all, or if she was just using it as an excuse to fight too. Because she just made a sarcastic comment about eating it and suddenly snake lady was fighting over who got to eat it. It was surreal, but in a good way. It meant she'd probably get endless entertainment from this thing and good fodder if she wanted to try something out. For now, she was content to enjoy the current situation.
"Well, normally I wouldn't want to take anyone's kill away from them, but that's a lot of lizard, lady. Don't you think it's a little greedy to keep it all to yourself?"
Rather than try to counter attack something like that, she fell to the floor again. It meant she'd have a hard time dodging any follow up attacks, but it's not like she'd be able to with her leg like this anyway. All she could do was raise her spear so that the next time the snake lady tried to throw her girth on her she'd be impaled for it, much like what happened when she was still inside the dragon. That seemed to be the only tactic the snake lady had going for herself: hard hitting attacks that relied on her huge body and momentum. Easy enough to counter because attacks like that were generally slower and it would take the snake lady a moment to be able to switch direction, it was just a matter of capitalizing on that and finding the right place to stab. But first she had to wait for her leg to heal.

A little greedy? Maybe so, maybe not, but any instinct within Kaida told her to guard her food if it was no longer alive. Another, more violent instinct told her to eliminate this competition, even she could tell Diana was a powerful individual, a jaguar wouldn't want another in her territory, so why should she? "A dog will eat every scrap of food given, guess I'm the same." She explained calmly, but broke off with a click of her teeth when her tail came away bloody when she went for a second strike. Her body zipped closer but didn't actually touch Diana, simply making her unspoken threat with her size.
Her head raised high, trying to stay out of the reach of a severe attack. Well, she wanted to stay out of reach, but rage bubbled up from her throat like bile, and she ached to show this mage her strength. Instead of the comparatively safer option of throwing her tail once more or even clawing, her neck snapped forward and her mouth yawned open like a trap door. However, whether or not her attack would have hit, her eyes flickered up and a cry broke from her jaws, "No!"
Another Pterodactyl had entered the fray, diving into the cafeteria from the portal, having apparently caught sight of the bloody mess below. It looked similar to the dead creature, except for a wider beak and more yellow crest, it didn't stop it from swallowing a few chunks of meat with gusto. Kaida's attention from Diana wavered dangerously, "Hey! Get out here!" She shrieked, and broke off to swing her head at the thing, it was either going to be eaten or tortured...plus, she had to eat something after taking such damage!
Either snake lady was taking this way too seriously or she was just terrible at banter because this conversation was just getting boring at this point. Rather than keep talking, Diana simply dismissed everything she said with a shrug and prepared for the next attack. Unsurprisingly, it came strong and once again, it took everything she had with her enhanced strength and both arms just to keep the snake from crushing her.
Then the floor collapsed under her. The pressure from all the attacks in that area must have been strong enough that the floor just couldn't keep up. Unfortunately, with her on the ground with an injured leg, she couldn't just move out of the way, and with her using both arms to stop the snake from hurting her, she couldn't just grab onto the ledge even though the hole wasn't that much bigger than she was. She tried to hook her good leg onto the edge, but it wasn't enough and she went tumbling into the hole.
The area under the floor was a mess of wires and tightly packed pikes, likely carrying water for the sinks and bathrooms and natural gas for the stoves. Diana hit several on the way down, landing unceremoniously on the ground with a thud. For a moment she was dazed, but such a fall wasn't going to keep her down for too long with her healing ability. She started sitting up only to hit her head one one of the pipes right above her. With a grunt, she rolled over to get a good look at where she was. It was almost pitch black, the only light coming from the hole in the now ceiling. However, much of that light was blocked by a thick maze of pipes and wires because of how tightly packed it all was. Even at her size she was going to have trouble moving through all this, to the point that she wasn't even going to attempt it with an injured leg. It was a shame that the fight would probably end like that, given how much trouble she would have maneuvering through all this she doubted the snake would even attempt going into a place she couldn't even fit, but it was fine. She learned a lot and she figured she'd have another opportunity to fight her later.

Meanwhile, Kaida had found herself in the uneviviable position of trying to chase away the second Pterodactyl. The thing was way more aggressive than the other and snapped at her face before letting out a long shriek. That seemed to trigger something, or was the straw that broke the camel's back, because she yelped as her tail suddenly hung out in empty air. Unlike Diana, Kaida simply had her upper body slither forward and avoided the collapsed ground with ease, looking away from the Pterodactyl. "Whoops." She peeled her jaws back in a frown, "She didn't..." Indeed she did, and Kaida tilted her head, one eye blinking at the mess that kept her sight at bay. The only reason she even knew Diana was down there was because of the blood smell coming out. "Well shit." She spat, and drew herself back, "Good freaking luck I guess, I gotta go."
Apparently, she had taken too long, and turned in time to see Pterodactyl #2 take off with the decimated corpse in its claws...and Kaida found she didn't have a heart to take it away, especially as another Pterodactyl joined in the revelry in the skies and vanished into the portal. She looked at the portal, and then at the open wound in the floor, this was just a huge waste of time.
Her form collapsed into her human shape, brushing herself off before leaning down and snatching up a shred of meat left on the ground, the blood so thick it looked almost black. Couldn't waste a meal, now could she?
