In the year 2012, a mysterious illness began to sweep the globe. In its wake, those who survived it were left with immensely powerful supernatural abilities.
As the number of people capable of wielding magic powers increased, they began to organize and seize control of the course of history. Using their powers to travel between parallel universes, these mages forge empires of a scale never before seen. And at the center of it all is the Academy, a neutral institution founded for mages to share their knowledge with each other.
Mages struggle against each other to impose their will upon the multiverse, but there is one threat that unites them all together. In recent months, mysterious entities have appeared. These entities wield power far greater than any one mage, and they seem determined to annihilate all of humanity. The mages will have to set aside their differences in order to beat them. The fate of the multiverse depends on it.

Two days. Two whole days spent underwater.
Kaida usually wouldn't be pacing in the middle of a civilization in Japan, she didn't very much like having too many people crowded around her, would much prefer discovering the wildlife of the land, but today was a special case. She had a kind guest who seemed much more interested in the exploration of everything, so she figured this would be more enjoyable than wandering some wilderness, and she needed to figure out what day it was...and that specific subject was why she seemed so agitated now.
She had spent two days on the bottom of a lake, knocked dead out, and had only exited because she was hungry. Other than likely worrying the hell out of her parents, it only raised more questions about her magic. Could she have stayed under longer? Could she have taken the crushing depths of...perhaps the ocean? If so, she could explore the most inhospitable world, the deep ocean...though it was kinda frightening to know she was so vastly different from humans...kinda thrilling too...
But first things first...food. Nobody could think without food! She could smell it pretty much anywhere they went, and prayed it was cheap, she couldn't cheapen somebody who decided to assist a monster serpent out of the goodness of their heart, and she turned toward said person, "It's a nice place, different, but nice...never ate anything here though...
