Rook whistled. “Incident, huh? Wonder who’s getting fired for this.”
Facing off against a giant, people-killing sky abomination was hitting pretty high up on the list of turns she hadn’t expected her day to take when she’d woken up in the morning, but as long as she wasn’t one of the people killed, she wasn’t about to complain. She certainly hadn’t dallied in getting to Florence to see what all the magic television messaging was about.
As much as she could several miles from the nearest portal back to the academy. Her motorcycle had been left in the portal room for time’s sake.
Fire, people running for their lives, shadow beings running for their lives the other way… she’d found a nice high hill to stand on to look over everything so she’d have a better idea of how to help. As it so happened, her best bet for now was pretty straight forward; help the Super Shadow keep the city’s populus from being burnt into people crips. “Keep the people safe” was going to be spread thin as all hell, but if it’d help just a few souls not get killed by the ring of fire, it’d be worth it.
Collapsing buildings wouldn’t not collapse, but their rubble would fall oddly short before the people running from it. Those too close in the shadow would find the building collapse mostly downward or for them to have been perfectly in the hole of a window, and a hole in the once-roof for them to now escape from. If a raging fire was cut from roaring further down the street because of it, it was a bonus. Occasionally she focused on one ant of a person in a particularly bad situation to hopefully give them a leg up.
She’d leave the heavy-duty punching to those with more heavy-duty magics. Shooting Star seemed like she had that job more than covered.
Maneuver(Protection) on Florence!
