It was an unusual feeling, having the ability to say that you just saved a world. After a narrow escape from the burning corpse of a winged monster with planet shaking powers, Tristan couldn't deny that it was an unwelcome feeling. A price had been paid, of course - Tenochtitlan was completely gone, the other portal cities looked like fire brigades had taken the day off worldwide, several mages were bound to be injured, and there were countless civilian casualties - but there were still things standing. Given how the Academy had neglected to provide any sort of prior warning whatsoever, "still standing" was probably the closest thing to an outright win that could've been expected.
Of course, the Academy had provided nothing in the way of prior warnings. Combined with the fact that they had yet to actually provide any sort of important information so far, and not to mention that whatever that thing was only qualified as an "incident", and Tristan was willing to bet that the student body was going to need to figure things out on their own. At the moment, the easiest source of answers was probably the corpse of the magical abomination, so going and prodding at that was top priority. Given his own lack of even a formal highschool edumacation, though, Tristan was going to need somebody properly STEM-minded if he hoped to actually find anything out.
Technically, Diana was an option. She may have been the better option of the two available. She kinda unnerved him slightly, though, and he didn't think a heart-to-heart with her was in order just yet. Vieri, on the other hand, was merely annoying, and had answers to questions that Tristan had been waiting for a good opportunity to ask for while now. Not to mention that, as technically the boss, he should probably be asked what to do with the mundanes taking shelter in the school that had been intended to be sent somewhere in Shanghai. Especially since one of them was his sister.
Some searching found Sparky sleeping on the job. Tristan supposed it made sense - not everyone could be fueled by adrenaline and the satisfaction of landing the killing blow. In fact, only one person could do that, and he was that one person. Still, being passed out like a drunken uncle at Thanksgiving dinner wasn't helping anyone, so Tristan wasted no time in shaking the silly haired time bomb awake.
"C'mon, Sleeping Beauty, rise and shine," the shadowmancer said in a monotone, his own exhaustion showing more in his voice than he cared for. "There's things to do, corpses to see. No time for napping, and besides, not only did I do all the heavy lifting in the battle, sleep is for the weak anyway. Get up and get moving, 'cuz you're coming with me."
