In the year 2012, a mysterious illness began to sweep the globe. In its wake, those who survived it were left with immensely powerful supernatural abilities.
As the number of people capable of wielding magic powers increased, they began to organize and seize control of the course of history. Using their powers to travel between parallel universes, these mages forge empires of a scale never before seen. And at the center of it all is the Academy, a neutral institution founded for mages to share their knowledge with each other.
Mages struggle against each other to impose their will upon the multiverse, but there is one threat that unites them all together. In recent months, mysterious entities have appeared. These entities wield power far greater than any one mage, and they seem determined to annihilate all of humanity. The mages will have to set aside their differences in order to beat them. The fate of the multiverse depends on it.
"The fuck are you talking about lady?" Diana raised an eyebrow.
Before she could think too hard about what this stupid horse was even talking about, she saw the horse going for more knives. Lovely. Wasn't the horse tired too? She was fighting pretty hard through all that and was probably wandering around for no reason looking for a dead person after that. Why the hell did she want to fight right now?
Diana quickly pulled one of her legs out from under her and thrust it into the horse's stomach. Her intention wasn't to kick her, it just worked out that way because she didn't want to get stabbed in the gut and thus had to move quickly. She just wanted to make use of the fact that her legs were longer than the horse's arms and hopefully hold off any future stabbings with it.
"Do you stab people that tell you bad news often? I mean, come on, you couldn't have seriously thought she was still alive after that right?"

Hayako was running entirely on adrenaline and anger. Halfway through stabbing Diana, she let out a cough for the foot planted firmly in the center of her stomach. Her hand faltered, the momentum dispersed from the stab, and her arms weren't long enough to reach anything vital anymore anyway.
"I stab- I stab abusers of power, people who step on the good name of my sister-" She gasped for the foot still lodged in her stomach. "You- you-" couldn't have delivered the news worse, insulted her the entire way, proved how bad of a person Diana was, there were plenty of reasons to stab her. And of course she didn't understand why she didn't think Hikaru was dead. She didn't get any of this. Never had, and Hayako was willing to bet never would. Not a heartless monster like her.
"Just- just stop talking about her already." She grunted.
If she couldn't stab Diana's gut, she'd still take what she could get. Her energy was waning, but she summoned what she could to drive the dagger down into Diana's thigh.
Diana tilted her head and narrowed her eyes. What was this stupid horse even talking about? Did she even know what she was talking about? Somehow, she doubted it. At this point she didn't even know why she was here anymore. She was tired and not the least bit interested in fighting. Why was she still here? The issue was resolved and all staying here was going to do was get her stabbed. Definitely not worth it.
"Whatever lady. It sounds like you should just take a nap."
With that, she retracted her leg as she started standing up, glanced at the stupid horse, and amplified her fatigue. It didn't matter if this person was a mage, she had to be tired after that. The horse was just flailing around at this point and seemed even more ineffectual than usual, so it seemed like a pretty safe bet that something like this would just knock her out completely. Diana wasn't feeling generous enough to take her to the nurse or somewhere more comfortable. She could sleep in this pile of rubble and wake up with a sore neck and back, it didn't really matter to Diana. Diana herself just wanted to get out of here and find a nice place to sleep. The comfy bed in Florence was out, but there were probably some places in Shanghai she could take advantage of.

Hayako's brow flicked inwards with confusion, before she brought her arm in close in preparation for a counter attack. Why Diana wasn't fighting hadn't been a concern of hers; the woman had seemed a threat the entire time, just one moment away from throwing a punch or a kick back at her. Hayako was expecting one to the head.
Th fatigue hit her like a ten-ton weight. There was plenty there for Diana to amplify - any other day she would've been in bed a half an hour ago, and within the last few minutes she'd ramped fully up to an attempt at fighting. The arm pressing against Diana's went limp, and her legs soon followed. Hayako's eyes rolled backwards in her head before she had time to close her lids. With a last gasp of air she collapsed, asleep before she even hit the ground.
