Karma's eyes slowly opened taking in all the blinding light of the world at once. His blurred vision quickly fought to adjust and in a short moment, he had regained it, seeing the bright sky in front of him along with a glaring sun. For a moment, he laid there peacefully, the sun warming his exposed chest and giving him back whatever of strength that had left his body. He didn't move a limb, and instead, blinked ever so slowly to proceed to gaze onto the blue, cloudless, and bright sky. Every once in a while, he would shift his body to adapt to the soft grass beneath him, his short sleeves providing the lower side of his arms with the full sensation until his mind finally went onto operation mode.
"Where...?" He mumbled raising his torso from the greenness beneath him. He looked behind his shoulder at it with a look of dismay before his head turned to face forward. Ocean. Surrounding him and the tiny island he woke up on was a large sea. "Oh fuck."
What lied before him was the equivalent of don't step on lava, except Karma would kill to replace all the water with lava. He could barely remember what had brought him here, all and any memory that popped bringing chills to his spine. To begin with, he had been on the search for home. For his world. Any mage he encountered told him that there were portals to basically everywhere! Except, they were wrong! Each time he entered a portal he found himself back to the peculiar world of machines or old times that resembled his homeworld but wasn't it. He had searched high and low and tried any portal he came across until finally, last night, he found a mage that looked as odd as any mundane from the machine world. He had asked him for help and the mage, unsure of what Karma meant, had led him to this world, whatever the hell it was. He had led him to a weird, deserted area with little to no people to ask for guidance. The mage, thinking he had done his part, had left for another city and forsaken poor Karma. That's when he had attempted to leave—and couldn't! Water! He couldn't swim, hello! Even when he attempted to fly over the sea with the help of fire, he could only get so far before dropping to the sea and passing out. Drowning. Which brings us to the present: he had been washed away to another random location with nobody to ask for direction.
"What is this hell!?" He shouted out loud as if someone would hear him. "Is this my punishment, Lord? What the hell have I done to receive this?" Quickly, Karma shifted his position to a kneeling one as he brought his hands together and shut his eyes both in annoyance and concentration. With that, he started praying. For an escape, for the ability to swim, anything! As long as he got out of this nightmare.
"I beg for forgiveness, for any wrong I have done You, and I request for a fucking escape. My only wish was to go home, Lord, to fulfill my duty elsewhere for you know how sin-ridden my kingdom is and—they need me! And You, of course. They need our God. But how the hell do you expect me to—..." Karma opened his eyes for a moment, coughed into his fist before returning to his previous state. "Forgive me for my discourtesy. I'm sure You understand the net I am currently trapped in so I need not remind You. Believe me, if I get the hell—if I get out of here, I will cleanse this entire world of impurities, and I will make sure every inch is done so."
