In the year 2012, a mysterious illness began to sweep the globe. In its wake, those who survived it were left with immensely powerful supernatural abilities.
As the number of people capable of wielding magic powers increased, they began to organize and seize control of the course of history. Using their powers to travel between parallel universes, these mages forge empires of a scale never before seen. And at the center of it all is the Academy, a neutral institution founded for mages to share their knowledge with each other.
Mages struggle against each other to impose their will upon the multiverse, but there is one threat that unites them all together. In recent months, mysterious entities have appeared. These entities wield power far greater than any one mage, and they seem determined to annihilate all of humanity. The mages will have to set aside their differences in order to beat them. The fate of the multiverse depends on it.
This was a pretty busy month! Congratulations on your progress bringing all the portal cities of the Information Age under your control. Of course, when I say "your" control, I'm speaking in the most general sense, including all the mages of the Academy. Each of the cities is developing its own unique character according to the group of mages that has seized it, and it seems that none of them have the decisive upper-hand in controlling the Information Age as a whole. Will that lead to some more friction in the future? I've certainly got my fingers crossed!
It's funny how the Isabello efforts to rebuild Shanghai have just painted an even bigger target on the city, isn't it? Mage-backed repairs mean more mage traffic, and more mage traffic means more chances for minor conflicts to spiral out of control. This one got stopped before there could be too much bloodshed, unfortunately, but it did result in some interesting developments. Those anti-mage squads will never be able to pose a real threat on their own, but they might force weaker or less combat-inclined mages to push the limits of their power.
The original instigator of this project seemed sorta discouraged afterward, but it actually went pretty well with the help of his allies! Any old mundane can get his way with political wheeling and dealing. It takes a mage to create this kind of chaos. I'm sure you left an excellent impression on the denizens of the newly-connected universe! And that goes doubly for the local mages.
There was a pretty good plan underway here to get some more gloriously pointless mage conflict going, but it ended up getting shut down by a flash mob of do-gooders. What's worse is that the do-gooders' priority was opposing the evil and corruption of the mundane authorities. The quantities of injustice here are practically homeopathic compared to the constant evils occurring at every moment of every day across the multiverse, but whatever makes you feel good, I guess. I gave this a passing grade since there's a decent chance of the meddling getting on some other mages' bad side, but you can all consider yourselves on notice.
When a faculty member holds class outside the Academy, attempting wholeheartedly to interfere with that class is the most respectful response! In this case, the class evolved into a brawl, and the interlopers came out on top. Good work! There's nothing like some real-world practice to hone one's fitness.
