Name: Orlando Milioni / Hyakuman Million
Age: 21 Years Old, born 8th October 1997.
Gender: Male.
Group: Seekers.
Homeworld: The Information Age, 2018 CE
Occupation: Mercenary / Freelance "problem solver".
Face Claim: "Tower of God" - 25th Baam
Appearance: Standing at about 180 cm, Orlando is somewhat tall, with an overly feminine build and features, which often makes him pass for a girl. He has large, expressive golden eyes, knee length brown hair (usually kept in a ponytail) and a graceful, gentle visage.
Most notably, while slender, he lacks any sort of visible musculature, body or facial hair, making him appear stick thin and, if not for his height, rather childish.
Talents:
Poetry Quite simply, a mediocre poet. He almost never shares his literary creations with anyone due to his self consciousness though.
Sculpture Orlando is skilled in additive sculpting, meaning creating works through manipulating and adding material directly, rather than "subtracting" the desired form from a solid block, of it like with marble or most forms of wooden sculptures. His favourite subjects are plants and flowers. He proudly displays these works, and they generally represent his favourite way of making his feelings known to others. He calls his style "Crystallizing One's Heart".
Precision The only sports that ever caught Lando's attention were ones based on pure dexterity and precision: darts, archery, pool and, above all else, skeet shooting. Passion for that sport was one of the few things he got from his dad, who was once a national level athlete while in the "Polizia" and personally tutored him for years. He developed a great sense of timing, trajectories and compensation for eventual variables that could affect them. While working as a vigilante, he further honed this talent, rapidly turning it to sharpshooting and sniping.
Conditioned Physique Since awakening to his magic, Orlando took note of his pitiable battle prowess and started training his mind and body. While his physical form barely showed any outward results, both his physical strength, endurance and martial ability significantly increased in a short span of time. This was mostly thanks to his self-made "supplements": powerful magical medicine he used to boost his body structure over the course of months, as to make it capable of exterting to the peak of human ability without "looking the part" at all.
Combat Intuition Seemingly a side effect of sorts derived from his magic awakening, Orlando's "sixth sense" for physical confrontations became sharper, giving a better understanding of both his own strengths and weaknesses, and a distinct "strategic awareness". In short, he is pretty skilled in hand-to-hand, even though he received no formal training whatsoever in it.
Personality: Orlando is a rather moody young man, switching from complete focus to an almost absolutely detached demeanor several times over the span of a single day. He is a meditative person who likes to explore his own world while expanding it and enriching it with other points of view. He's humble, but not self-deprecating, having managed to painfully discard most of his low self-esteem issues since awakening to his magic, though as a result of his own rocky personal experiences, he tends to care deeply for others who remind him of his past plights, overly so at times.
He likes to be amidst crowds, flowing unseen through the river of people, but has a hard time relating to "normal" people: "normal" meaning those without a magic to call heir own. While interacting with his peers though, Orlando gives all he has to help further ideals he believes in, such as personal freedom, mutual understanding, cultural evolution and inclusion. He's hard to crack, and tends to willingly isolate himself from most, but once someone manages to "get through his shell" he becomes very attached, very easily.
There's very little which upsets him if aimed to hurt him directly, but he can become a veritable fury when faced with people who abuse their position of advantage selfishly, especially if they do so at the expense of those who have been pushed to the fringes of society.
He divides his peers into three broad categories: "playmates", meaning those whom he considers friends or wants to befriend; "competitors" are the ones whom he doesn't really like on a personal level but whose accomplishments and talent he respects; and finally "oppositors": the ones who he avoids or actively tries to hinder for personal or ideological reasons.
He's new to the Academy, and still has to enter a real clique or group, but he generally tends to agree with the philosophy of the Seekers, thinking those with magic can usher a age of utopistic splendor for those without.
He has quite the sweet tooth, and goes absolutely insane for gelatinous treats: caramel pannacotta being his utmost favourite.
History: Orlando was born the only child of Rita Fernandi and Lucio Milioni. His mother was a very sweet and caring person, raised by an abusive mother and a caring father, both of whom she lost at a young age, while his dad was a door-to-door salesman, having been dishonorably discharged from the police before meeting his wife due to a sever case of alcoholism.
Growing up, his mom taught him how to "dream deep", and as a result he was constantly torn between the real world, for which he felt unfit, and the world of his fantasies, for which he longed but of which he also felt undeserving.
His father was absent, barely bothering to dine with them every evening after he got off work, but Orlando did not really hate him, not consciously at least. Deep down, though, his old man was a constant reminder of what he could one day become: a warning which grew more and more ominous and near with the passing years, as the child grew into a boy, and the boy matured deep confusion in his heart.
Feeling aimless, Orlando took up poetry, finding an outlet for his bright and distant dreams. He did not really excel at it, being mediocre at best, despite being named as the protagonist of two of the most famous Italian epics: Orlando, paladin of Charlemagne.
In his fantasies, though, he had always been a surly hermit wizard, coming down from his mountain cave to impart wisdom on those who needed it, receiving brief kindness and fleeting affection in return: just like his real life friendships were few, feeble, and far between.
He did not enroll into a university after graduating, since his mother needed help looking after his dad, who had been reduced to a bedridden husk from a grave brain aneurysm.
Seeing him wasting away, unaware of his surroundings and the care that he received, fed into the deep rooted dread in Orlando's heart, whose dream became reality a few years later.
His mother killed herself after smothering her infirm husband with a pillow, leaving a note to her son which simply read: "Forget about us."
One year later, on the first few days of his 20th year, Orlando fell ill, finding himself unable to leave his home soon after the first symptoms set in.
After a couple of days of excruciating pain, the young man felt all he could do was praying for a quick death, fearing a horrible fate like the one his father endured was upon him... he awakened his magic instead.
He discovered the Academy after a few months of working in the underworld, using his newfound gift to root out organized crime however he could.
Magic Overview: Orlando's power seems to work only on inanimate objects, and its range is somewhere around the area of a medium-sized room around him. Things affected by his power change into more powerful and useful versions of themselves, reverting back immediately when they completely exit the power's area of effect. When trying to make use of or magically manipulate any transformed item, it turns exceedingly unwieldy, malfunctioning or even harmful for anyone but Orlando himself.
Tools: Two pair of glasses, a couple of toy guns, a plastic katana and a box of mints labeled [STUFF] using a black sharpie.
