“Well, it doesn’t have to be…” She hummed a light chuckle under her breath after her response.
She closed her eyes for a moment, noting just how well the conversation had been going. In all honesty, Jennifer had to be one of the kindest students of this school. While in the future it could always change, it seemed like this was a moment to be appreciative of. It was also one of the reasons while Abigail kept her abilities restrained in something similar to a lock for herself. One she had learned to unlock through the years at will. It was only typically used in order to prevent her abnormalities from popping out and scaring the usual mundane. Unfortunately, it only ever worked to hide everything besides her sharp ears and blue symbol on her forehead.
Of course, this also came with its repercussions. Whenever she wasn’t paying attention, her mental capabilities minimize until disturbed or activated. However, it was then that Abigail felt a light tickle at her nose, only to find a finger lying just on top of her nose. With widened eyes and a rush of adrenaline pumping through her body, Abigail found herself landing onto her feet, literally running a short distance away.
She took a breath before noticing the finger, pointing to it with a light shiver. “The squadron of handless fingers is out to get me yet again! Run Jennifer!” She made her way around the corner, hardly noticing the eye and stopping for a moment, looking just around the corner yet again.
“Ahhhh, now that was indeed a good one.” She then walked back around the corner, waiting for Jennifer. “I swear, anyone who dares to combat you will surely be given a bit of a fright.” She smiled.
She stopped to think just what Jennifer’s capabilities were. Could she only summon body parts with skin? What else would be a better way than to just ask directly?
“Jennifer, dear, are you only able to make body parts appear? Or is there more to it than meets the ‘eye’?”
The latter of her statement was a bit of a subtle pun, but Abigail hardly noticed such things. It was also pretty surprising that the girl had such similarities to Abigail as well! It was as if she had been like a little sister to her at this point. Surely something must be up, but whatever it was, it was definitely working.
“Say- I love to dance as well! Writing is a bit more personal, but I’d love to see what you’d come up with.” She spoke in a much more giddy tone, only to calm herself down and emit a cherishing smile. “I would very much say the same. And also, you would make to be a very amazing friend, Jennifer.” She raised a palm, almost as if signifying a high five, something she learned to be quite polite in this new world.
