And thus the world was consumed by flames, there were terrifying shadow zombies coming out of the ground and chasing everyone, and nothing would remain room temperature. Tristan really pulled through. It would have been lame if it was just him going ooga booga at the mundanes, but coupled with all the fire this was perfect. Combination of light and darkness, the heat and the cold, really was a great way to show how diverse mage power was and how many different ways the had to kill them. It was a shame she couldn't really get away with amplifying the light of the flames. Part of her wanted to, but given Tristan was doing a decent enough job she supposed she shouldn't hurt him too badly.
"Nice!" she laughed. "So if we just flatten this area that should make taking control of the rest of it pretty easy, and then we can use this place as an example for when we go after the others. It might make them more willing to be diplomatic. I'm sure Vieri would appreciate that."
Diana wasn't too worried about the other mages getting caught in all this. They were all mages, they probably all had ways to deal with huge walls of fire. It'd be fine. They were even saving her the trouble of dealing with the civilians. Vieri was getting extra mushy lately, so she figured she was going to have to put a little bit of effort into saving the ones that weren't smart or fast enough to run away from her warning, but at this rate she was just going to get to sit around and enjoy smashing up the city.
It made her glad she came despite her fatigue and hunger.
