In the year 2012, a mysterious illness began to sweep the globe. In its wake, those who survived it were left with immensely powerful supernatural abilities.
As the number of people capable of wielding magic powers increased, they began to organize and seize control of the course of history. Using their powers to travel between parallel universes, these mages forge empires of a scale never before seen. And at the center of it all is the Academy, a neutral institution founded for mages to share their knowledge with each other.
Mages struggle against each other to impose their will upon the multiverse, but there is one threat that unites them all together. In recent months, mysterious entities have appeared. These entities wield power far greater than any one mage, and they seem determined to annihilate all of humanity. The mages will have to set aside their differences in order to beat them. The fate of the multiverse depends on it.
Congratulations on surviving another month! The overall progress on bringing the multiverse under mage control has slowed somewhat, but that's only to be expected. After all, any organization becomes less efficient as it grows larger, and that goes doubly for an organization full of almighty teenage demigods. Backstabbings and conflicts of interest are inevitable, and it's only a matter of time until people have to break things off and go their own ways - which is a good thing, of course, since it means more conflict spread wider across the domains of humanity. So, commence with the backstabbings!
There are a couple of projects to review this month.
Speaking of backstabbings... Anyway, I wasn't sure whether to call this Magic Science or Science Magic. I ended up going with the former because magic was just the subject of the science, and the methods you used weren't especially magical in the end. Anyway, good stuff! Good conflicts, good findings. It's a bit disappointing to see that there's no genetic factor whatsoever in determining who becomes a mage, but disproving this hypothesis still represents progress towards figuring out the correct one. I suppose mages are good at the process of elimination in every sense of the term.
I'm still not quite sure just what happened here. Was Rook fooling around with her power again? Anyway, it was technically a fight, so I'm inclined to rate it favorably by default. Just try to be a little bit more decisive in the future, okay?
