It was strange meeting all these people from other times and other worlds. If it wasn't actually happening she never would have dreamed that it was even possible, and it felt even stranger that she was actually making friends with those people from other universes. Not that she thought making friends with anyone was strange, it was just making her think of things she never had to before. Normally, her friends understood the society she lived in because they also lived in it, but that wasn't the case anymore. Some of them knew nothing of her world; some of them had never even seen it. So if she got the chance, what did she want to show those people? What were the best parts of the era she lived in?
Jennifer had one such opportunity. Abigail wanted to see the city, so she figured she'd show her around. There was a lot to see and there was no way she was going to be able to show everything off in one trip, so figuring out where to start was really hard. What was something really great that old timey people would normally never be able to see? What were the best parts of modern life? What would be the coolest things that would make Abigail fall in love with this century completely? She deliberated on it for a few days and eventually settled on the one thing that sounded more fun than anything else.
Disney Land.
Technically it wasn't in Los Angeles, but it was close enough and there was a bus that went there, so there wasn't any reason not to go. She couldn't think of a single place quite like amusement parks and she doubted they had anything even close to roller coasters back where Abigail lived. And if they went during the week it probably wouldn't even be all that crowded, comparatively speaking. They'd be able to enjoy all the rides, food, and shows and they could take it as fast or slow as they liked. The important part was to have fun! They could meet at the portals and then Jennifer could show her the way from there. She probably wouldn't remember, but that was fine. It was easy enough to program reminders and maps into her phone.
Jennifer showed up in a tank top and jean shorts that were a bit ripped and frayed at the bottom. It was summer, and they'd be doing a lot of walking, so dressing light was for the best. She warned Abigail to do the same because it seemed like a lot of really old clothing was just way too heavy for this weather. The bus trip there would take a few hours, but as long as they left early enough they'd still have all day to play. She was content to let Abigail decide the pace of the trip so she could take in all the sights. Once they were in, she just grabbed a pamphlet with everything they could do and handed one to her new friend if she wanted one.
"So what do you like to do? There are really fast rides, there are slower rides, and there's games! Then later there'll be shows and we can grab food whenever you're hungry!"
