The first time Faith saw the accommodations offered to staff members at the academy, her jaw dropped. That such a place could be considered a simple bedroom baffled her. It rivaled all but the fanciest homes she'd been in and even had luxuries she never thought possible. Even things that many people from the era of the founders of the academy must have found normal were basically magic to her. Running water, computers, air conditioning, electric blankets, they all seemed completely impossible to her. Faith always felt it was unfortunate that she would be unlikely to use such a place because it was very nice. Rather than let it completely go to waste, she opted to use it as somewhat of a plant nursery so she could keep extra plants and seeds on hand. Plus the headmaster had a rather unusual interest in her mushrooms, and this seemed safer than trying to grow them anywhere else.
It seemed like a good idea at the time. Pick a few that could easily be planted in a few pots, didn't need much water or care, use her power to make them a bit more robust, and let them go. Unfortunately, she didn't realize exactly how well they'd grow in a place like this because she knew very little about the climate or how easily it could be manipulated, and the next time she went to check on them she was able to see some of the results out in the common room.
The plants had broken out of her room, smashing through the door and growing through several of the walls. Vines with flowers and fruits line the halls. Mushrooms as big as a large dog sprouted in some of the more shadowed corners that got less traffic. Ground cover and weeds started dotting the ground anywhere their roots could take hold. It was nearly impossible to walk down the hall without stepping on something, and there was enough fruit hanging throughout the halls to feed a small army, many of even the smaller fruits, like apples, ending up larger than a human head.
Faith sighed and scratched the side of her cheek. She supposed it was her job to clean this up, but she didn't even know where to begin. The most her power could do was make them wither, she couldn't easily get rid of them completely.
